Sexual Violence

What are private parts?

Private parts are areas of your body that belong only to you. They include your mouth, breasts, buttocks, and the areas between your legs, like the penis and vagina. These parts are called "private" because they are personal and no one else should touch or play with them.

Why is it important to keep private parts private?

It’s important because your body is yours! You are the boss of your body. No one should ever look at, touch, or play games with your private parts, even if they are someone you know and trust.

What happens if someone doesn’t respect these rules?

If someone doesn’t respect your body safety rules, this can lead to something very serious called child sexual abuse. This means that someone is doing something to you that is not okay. Many children who experience this may feel scared or ashamed and might not tell anyone.

What should I do if someone asks me to keep a secret?

You should never keep a secret that makes you feel sad or gives you a "yucky" feeling. It’s important to know that it is not your fault. If something happens that makes you uncomfortable, you can talk to a trusted adult, like a parent or teacher. They can help you.
